Children and Young People’s Community Officer

Having been awarded a grant by the Big Lottery for preventative services in the local community, Westcliff based SOS Domestic Abuse Projects is looking to recruit staff to its services for children and young people who are affected by domestic abuse in the borough of Southend.

Experienced in the domestic violence sector and working with children and troubled families, the ideal candidate will need to be highly motivated and committed to making a difference to the safety and promotion of healthy relationships to children and young people.

In addition, this team will work within the community, with schools, youth organisations, and other agencies to deliver a proactive programme focussing on the prevention of abuse and the promotion of healthy relationships, within families and interpersonal relationships, particularly important for teenagers.

Relevant experience of working with children and young people is essential as is a knowledge of the domestic abuse sector. In addition, the ability to engage with young people through a range of media and to advocate the benefits of healthy relationships is key.

Hours: 25 hours per week

Annual leave: Commencing at 25 days per annum (pro rata)

Fundraising Manager

Westcliff based SOS Domestic Abuse Projects is seeking a Fundraising Manager to be responsible for increasing income for this charity which has been in existence since 1976, providing services to victims of domestic abuse.

Applications are welcomed from candidates with at least three years’ experience in working with charitable trusts and foundations, and commissioners.

A highly motivated, self-starter with attention to detail and excellent monitoring and evaluation skills, is sought for this role. Experience of income generation in a similar field or working with vulnerable adults or children is desirable, but not essential.

Domestic Abuse Practitioner

Westcliff based SOS Domestic Abuse Projects is looking to recruit additional staff to its services for women who are affected by domestic abuse in the borough of Southend.

The ideal candidate will need to be an experienced domestic violence practitioner, highly motivated and committed to making a difference to the safety and promotion of healthy relationships for women.

Relevant experience of working with women in crisis is essential as is a knowledge of the domestic / sexual abuse sector. In addition, the ability to engage with women through advocacy and ongoing support is key. IDVA or DAPA accredited would be preferred, but not essential.

The ideal candidate will need to be highly motivated and committed to making a difference to the safety and promotion of healthy relationships to children and young people.

Relevant experience of working with children and young people is essential as is a knowledge of the domestic violence/sexual abuse sector. In addition, the ability to engage with young people through a range of activities and to advocate the benefits of healthy relationships is key.

Administrator– Full Time

Westcliff based SOS Domestic Abuse Projects is looking to recruit additional staff to its services for women and children who are affected by domestic abuse in the borough of Southend.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing support to the CEO and PA to the CEO undertaking HR, office management and general office support.

Key requirements for this role are good communication, computer skills and must be proficient in MS Office. The candidate must be able to prioritise workloads and have the ability to multi-task and work within a busy office, as well as handling confidential information.

Salary: Further information upon request, but subject to qualifications and relevant experience

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Temporary Post Fixed for 3 Months)
